【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareusefulasrapid,nondestructivetechniquesforthein-placedeterminationofthedensityofunhardenedconcrete.Thebackscattertestmethodisalsousefulforthesamepurposeonhardenedconcrete.ThefundamentalassumptionsinherentinthetestmethodsarethatComptonscatteringisthedominantinteractionandthatthematerialundertestishomogeneous.Thesetestmethodsaresuitableforcontrolandforassistinginacceptancetestingduringconstruction,forevaluationofconcretequalitysubsequenttoconstruction,andforresearchanddevelopment.Note18212;Caremustbetakenwhenusingthesetestmethodsinmonitoringthedegreeofconsolidation,whichistheratiooftheactualdensityachievedtothemaximumdensityattainablewithaparticularconcrete.Thetestmethodspresentedhereareusedtodeterminetheactualdensity.Adensitymeasurement,byanytestmethod,isafunctionofthecomponentsoftheconcreteandmayvary,tosomeextent,inresponsetothenormal,acceptablevariabilityofthosecomponents.Testresultsmaybeaffectedbyreinforcingsteel,bythechemicalcompositionofconcreteconstituents,andbysampleheterogeneity.Thevariationsresultingfromtheseinfluencesareminimizedbyinstrumentdesignandbytheuser’compliancewithappropriatesectionsofthetestprocedure.Resultsoftestsbythebackscattertestmethodmayalsobeaffectedbythedensityofunderlyingmaterial.Thebackscattertestmethodexhibitsspatialbiasinthattheapparatus’sensitivitytothematerialunderitdecreaseswithdistancefromthesurfaceoftheconcrete.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthein-placedensityofunhardenedandhardenedconcrete,includingrollercompactedconcrete,bygammaradiation.Fornotesonthenucleartestsee.1.2Twotestmethodsaredescribed,asfollows:SectionTestMethodA-DirectTransmission7TestMethodB-Backscatter81.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheSIequivalentsofinch-poundunitsmaybeapproximate.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
