【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverstheselectionoftestconditionsforacceleratedexposuretestingofcoatingsandrelatedproductsinunfilteredopen-flamecarbon-arcdevicesconductedaccordingtoPracticeG151.Thispracticealsocoversthepreparationoftestspecimens,thetestconditionssuitedforcoatings,andtheevaluationoftestresults.Note1Previousversionsofthispracticereferencedcarbon-arcdevicesdescribedbyPracticeG23,whichdescribedveryspecificequipmentdesigns.PracticeG23hasbeenwithdrawnandreplacedbyPracticeG151,whichdescribesperformancecriteriaforallexposuredevicesthatuselaboratorylightsources.1.2Thispracticecoversunfilteredopen-flamecarbon-arcexposuresofpaintsandrelatedcoatings,andcoverstheexposurecyclethathasbeencommonlyreferredtoasthe"dewcycle."PracticeD822describesfilteredopen-flamecarbon-arcdevices,andPracticeD5031describesenclosedcarbon-arcexposures.Theradiationfromanunfilteredopen-flamecarbonarcproducesshorterwavelengthsandhigherlevelsofshortwavelengthradiationthaneitherfilteredopen-flameorenclosedcarbonarcs.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
